your real name/s? (if you give it away)
Jamie Floodgate, Nick Bennett and David Penning
when you started djing/producing?
Jamie has been DJing for a few more years than me but we both met DJing in bars and clubs around Nottingham around 2006 but took it more seriously when we moved to London in 2008. There was originally 5 of us in Tomb Crew and we focused solely on DJing for a long time and then realised that if we wanted to keep progressing we'd have to take the production more seriously! After our slew of Bmore edits we did our first official remix for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs on Greco Roman as they'd taken some interest in what we'd been doing previously. Looking back on this it was a real honour to do our first official remix for such an amazing label and artist too! Our debut EP came out recently on Trouble & Bass which again was a real honour as we've been massive fans of theirs since the label began.
Our MC , Illaman, has released a few amazing albums and mixtapes already as a solo artists and done countless collaborations so make sure you check them out!
who/what are your major influences?
We all have very similar taste in music. We all like a wide variety of music but draw most of our influences from early/mid 90s Jungle/Rave and mid 90s Hip Hop (admittedly Jamie had to educate me on this but i came round eventually!)
what are your favourite tools for djing & producing?
We produce mostly on Logic but Ableton is good for some stuff too as we find it a very intuitive to use.
where will you be playing next/ what projects do you have lined up?
We've got an EP coming out on Black Butter Records and one coming out on Top Billin in the near future as well as more stuff on Trouble & bass and hopefully Greco Roman too! so basically a load of originals!
who would you love to collaborate with?
I'd have to say Wu-Tang I think but maybe if we're going dream then specifically ODB since it can't happen or Nas in 94, someone of that caliber anyway!
what are your favourite ways to find new tracks?
We're lucky enough to get sent a lot of music but obviously with that comes sifting through to find the stuff that suits your style. I find beatport charts helpful if a little dated and mixcloud can be used in some good ways to find stuff you didnt know about..
